Surrounded by casuarina trees, on the Avenida da Marginal, in the village of Vilankulo, in the "Land of Good People", Inhambane Province, is Palmeiras Lodge, wrapped in a lush garden, overlooking one of the largest marine reserves Indian Ocean in the Bazaruto archipelago, consisting of five islands, including the “island of Mist” and “Paradise Island”.

The crystal clear water, with shades of turquoise and blue, bathing the beach in front of the Lodge, is the playground of mythical mermaids (dugongs), whales and dolphins, pelicans and flamingos, turtles and otters.

The garden of the lodge offers a mix of colors and scents, flowers and fruits, frequented by elusive Cucal of Burchell and Genetta Servalina, weavers, doves and squirrels, among others.
